Who are you and who is your organization? What does it do, represent, etc.?
TEKsystems is a subsidiary of Allegis Group, the largest private talent management firm in the world. Our longstanding history and industry-leading position speak to our success in providing the IT staffing solutions, IT services and talent management insight to our clients and our consultants. The Raleigh-Durham, NC TEKsystems office is one of the company’s most active markets. We work with over 140 local clients across all industries, from financial services to healthcare. We support Applications, Network and End-User support opportunities that are contract, contract-to-hire or permanent/direct placement positions.
My name is Ann Monastyrsky and I am an Applications Recruiter with the Raleigh office. I began my career with TEKsystems in the Charlotte, NC office, and spent about 1 year there before transitioning to the Raleigh office in May 2015. In both locations, I serve as the office’s QA Specialist Recruiter, focusing on Manual and Automation Quality Assurance roles. I also support the Greensboro, NC office and have multiple contractors working in that area. I also support additional skillsets like Business Analysis, Project Management and national Healthcare opportunities.
How did you come to build a relationship with STC?
We had a relationship with the previous President of STC by networking and he asked about new locations for the group.
How does your organization fit into the activity and economic development of the Carolinas?
We support clients across the Carolinas through our multiple office locations (Raleigh-Durham, Greensboro, Charlotte, Columbia, and Charleston) as they seek the top IT talent for their business challenges. In turn, as their employer, we assist thousands of IT professionals to identify, interview and enter new positions that further their careers. Through this business activity, TEKsystems participates in developing local, state, national and international economies.'
What sort of connections or benefits have you gained from being a sponsor of STC?
As an organization, TEKsystems has been able to network with the Technical Communicator community on a local level. We’ve very much appreciated the opportunity with the group, be a part of Career Days and monthly meetings, and be a resource to the STC community as they understand the local market more thoroughly or actively search for new opportunities.
When did you become a sponsor of STC and how long have you been a sponsor?
We become a sponsor over a year ago.
Where do you see overlap between what you/your organization does and the tech comm industry?
TEKsystems directly overlaps with the technical communication industry as the bridge between companies seeking T.C. professionals and those professionals. We are able to thoroughly discuss and understand both sides of the coin and be a major driver in the industry, so that business and candidates can join together and produce the best possible product.
Why do you see value in being a sponsor of STC?
The value TEKsytsems sees in being a sponsor of STC is truly in the people we are able to connect with. We appreciate the opportunity to host STC events that then allow professionals to connect, discuss industry questions, network, etc. In that way, we are able to better educate ourselves on the space and continue do what we do best: we make IT possible.
